NASA is planning to send a human-like robot into space sometime in the “not too distant future.” The Robonaut 2, or R2, is a 300-pound robot built by General Motors. It can hold tools as it assists human astronauts.
After further testing in microgravity and electromagnetic environments, NASA plans to launch R2 on the space shuttle Discovery in September.
I hope it dosen’t “attack” the astronauts! (Too many movies about that!)
