Five Ideas For Making a Last-Minute Halloween Costume

Wait to long to decide on a cool costume? Don’t worry! We’ve got you covered.

Here’s a list of five last-minute costumes that are still cool enough to impress.

Identity Thief

What You’ll Need:

  • A package of paper name tag stickers
  • A mysterious look on your face

What You’ll Do:

This costume should take only a few minutes to put together. Simply write random names on the stickers, place them on your clothes and you’re now an identity thief. It’s extra impressive if you channel your inner bandit persona.

Stick Figure

What You’ll Need:

  • White pants
  • White shirt or hoodie (long sleeves works best)
  • Paper plate
  • Black electrical tape

What You’ll Do:

Hopefully you have the supplies around your house, because this one is simple. Put on your white shirt and white pants. Use the electrical tape to make a stick figure on your body (see above). Then you’ll use the tape to make a smiley face on the paper plate. You can attempt to tape the plate in a way that it stays on your head, or simply carry it around.

Cactus

What You’ll Need:

  • Green pants
  • Green shirt or hoodie (long sleeves works best)
  • Plastic straws
  • Glue
  • Scissors

What You’ll Do:

Like the Stick Figure, this one is super simple. Cut the straws into V-shaped barbs, glue them to your shirt and pants and let it dry. Now put on the costume and be ready to stand with your arms in “cactus pose.”

Error 404

What You’ll Need:

  • A white T-shirt
  • A black marker

What You’ll Do:

For those in need of a literal last-minute Halloween costume — this is the one for you. Take a white T-shirt that you don’t mind ruining. In black marker, write “Error 404: Costume Not Found.” It’s a geeky reference to the response code you get when attempting to visit a broken or dead link online.

Static Cling

What You’ll Need:

  • A bunch of your own clothes
  • A few safety pins

What You’ll Do:

This one wins the award for the Easiest Costume That Could Still Win Most Creative Award. All you do is get dressed in your normal clothes, safety pin a few other pieces of your wardrobe to your outfit and you’re finished. The result? You are walking static cling.
