Do We Know the First Character Confirmed For Star Wars Ep. 7?

That’s right, it’s R2-D2. The announcement was made earlier in the week by Lucasfilm, confirming that everyone’s favorite droid will be a part of the upcoming Star Wars Episode 7.

How big of a part? That I don’t know. In fact, there is little to nothing known about the story and plot of the upcoming sequel.

But I’ll be sure to let you know as soon as any announcements are made.

I am thinking that Luke will. He should because R2 D2 was his dad’s. Don’t forget C3 Po. I just love both those droids. :)

I wonder if C3PO will be in this movie. Without C3PO, R2D2 will get into huge trouble.

I agree. Also, most of the humor in Star Wars comes from C3PO and R2-D2 talk

Clay, you said R2 D2 was announced by Lucasfilm. I thought Disney bought Lucasfim. Did they just not change the name?

You are correct. Disney owns LucasFilm, but it still operates independently.

With all the money that George Lucas got from selling Lucasfilm, will he be helping out at all with the movie? Sort of like Suzanne Collins did with the Hunger Games.

I can’t wait for 2015! Avengers 2 and Star Wars 7 will come out that year. What a HUGE year for Disney!
