The White House’s latest visitor isn’t a politician or foreign ambassador. It’s a juvenile Red-tailed Hawk.
The young raptor has been exploring the White House campus this week, and is now comfortably resting on the ledges of the building’s East Wing.
According to officials, it’s likely chose the White House thanks to the property’s plentiful grass and trees, a rarity in Washington D.C. There’s also a thriving population of gray squirrels living around the White House that offer plenty of prey for the hawk.
It even has its own Twitter account (@LincolnTheHawk):
