Is This the World’s Oldest Tree?

Hiding somewhere in California’s Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest, stands a 4,765-year-old tree called ‘Methuselah.’ The bristlecone pine lives in the Inyo National Forest and was already 100 years old when the pyramids were constructed in Egypt. It is at least 1,000 year older than any other known tree.

To protect the tree from vandalism, the forest service has never actually revealed the tree’s exact location. Instead they keep it secret and hidden, and there are very few actual photos of the tree itself. The photos included here are merely other bristlecone pines from the surrounding forest. They could be ‘Methuselah,’ or just other really old trees. Take a look.
