The 13 Most Anticipated Movies of 2017

This is shaping up to be one epic year for movies. We will have new installments from Disney, Marvel, DC, Stars Wars and many more. Here are a few of the movies we’re most excited about.

Despicable Me 3

Gru and his wife Lucy must stop former ’80s child star Balthazar Bratt from achieving world domination. In theaters June 30.

Thor: Ragnorak

Imprisoned on the other side of the universe, the mighty Thor finds himself in a deadly gladiatorial contest that pits him against the Hulk, his former ally and fellow Avenger. Thor’s quest for survival leads him in a race against time to prevent the all-powerful Hela from destroying his home world and the Asgardian civilization. In theaters Nov. 3.

Star Wars: Episode VIII

We know almost nothing about the next installment in the Star Wars saga, but we’re still excited. Here’ what’s official: It comes out on Dec. 15. That’s about it.

The Lego Batman Movie

There are big changes brewing in Gotham, and if he wants to save the city from The Joker’s hostile takeover, LEGO Batman may have to drop the lone vigilante thing, learn to lighten up, and join forces with a few willing comrades, including Barbara Gordon/Batgirl  and a young orphan he accidentally adopted. Of course, he’s already got the help of his loyal butler Alfred. In theaters Feb. 10.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

Set to the backdrop of ‘Awesome Mixtape #2,’ Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 continues the team’s adventures as they traverse the outer reaches of the cosmos. The Guardians must fight to keep their newfound family together as they unravel the mysteries of Peter Quill’s true parentage. Old foes become new allies and fan-favorite characters from the classic comics will come to our heroes’ aid as the Marvel cinematic universe continues to expand. In theaters on May 5.

Wonder Woman

An Amazon princess leaves her island home to explore the world and, in doing so, becomes one of the world’s greatest heroes. In theaters on May 7.

Justice League

Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. In theaters on Nov. 17.

Spider-Man: Homecoming

Spider-Man made his Marvel debut in Captain America: Civil War. Now, he begins to navigate his newfound identity as the web-slinging superhero. Peter returns home, where he lives with his Aunt May, under the watchful eye of his new mentor Tony Stark, and tries to fall back into his normal daily routine. But when the Vulture emerges as a new villain, everything that Peter holds most important will be threatened. In theaters July 7.

Power Rangers

The Power Rangers are back in a big screen reboot when a group of high-school kids, who are infused with unique superpowers, harness their abilities in order to save the world. In theaters on March 24.

Boss Baby

A suit-wearing briefcase-carrying baby pairs up with his seven-year old brother to stop the dastardly plot of the CEO of Puppy Co. In theaters March 31.

Cars 3

Blindsided by a new generation of blazing-fast racers, the legendary Lightning McQueen is suddenly pushed out of the sport he loves. To get back in the game, he will need the help of an eager young race technician with her own plan to win, inspiration from the late Fabulous Hudson Hornet, and a few unexpected turns. Proving that #95 isn’t through yet will test the heart of a champion on Piston Cup Racing’s biggest stage! In theaters June 16.

Smurfs: The Lost Village

In this fully animated, all-new take on the Smurfs, a mysterious map sets Smurfette and her friends Brainy, Clumsy and Hefty on an exciting race through the Forbidden Forest leading to the discovery of the biggest secret in Smurf history. In theaters April 7.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul

Greg convinces his family to take a road trip to attend his great grandmother’s 90th birthday as a cover for what he really wants: to attend a nearby gamer convention. Unsurprisingly, things do not go according to plan and Heffley family antics ensue. In theaters May 19.

  2. Yes thank u someone pointed Dunkirk out! The miracle of Dunkirk is a great story and it’s a new angle for a WW2 movie, as far as I know, but anyway I’m so excited and I hope it’s historically accurate but if you’ve never heard of the Dunkirk evacuation look it up because it’s going to be awesome and I’m going to see it the day it hits theaters.
