Not many 50 year old cars sell for big money, but that doesn’t apply to the 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO. There are only 39 known GTO’s in existence, and one of the rare cars has been put on the market for $41 million.
In the 1960’s Ferrari built the V-12, 170-miles per hour GTOs as racing cars, but recently the world’s wealthiest car collectors have begun collecting the cars. The price tag is by far the highest ever on the market. By comparison, the most expensive new car is the the Bugatti Veyron, starting at $2 million, $38 million less than the Ferrari.
