The Highest Court in the Land

Jokingly called the β€œThe Highest Court in the Land,” the U.S Supreme Court features a little-known full basketball court on the fifth floor of the United States Supreme Court Building.

Originally the basketball court was storage room, but in the 1940s, the room was converted into a full gym and workout area for courthouse workers. Currently, the court’s used by clerks, off-duty police officers, and other supreme court employees.

The only bad thing about it? It’s literally directly above the actual Supreme Courtroom, meaning that no one can play while court is in session. Apparently, the dribbling and footfalls echo down below.
