“The Hunger Games” trilogy has become one of the most successful book franchises of all-time, and the first movie adaptation was equally successful.

Unfamiliar with The Hunger Games? Here’s the synopsis:

Filled with action, danger, mystery, violence, sci-fi, and just about anything else you can dream up, the story follows 16-year-old Katniss Everdeen, who lives in the post-apocalyptic nation where the countries of North America once existed. The Capitol, a highly advanced metropolis, exercises political control over the rest of the nation. The Hunger Games are an annual event in which one boy and one girl aged 12–18 from each of the twelve districts surrounding the Capitol are selected by lottery to compete in a televised battle to the death.

  1. This looks pretty sweet. Is the (younger) evil guy, that guy from Inception (I can’t remember his name)?? If so, he’s gotten fat…
It’s so cool how they can make Katniss look so much older, when she isn’t really. That’s so cool!

  2. The hunger games is about a bunch of kids killing each other…didn’t watch the first one and definitely not watching this one either.

    • Hello Me. The Hunger Games Trilogy is certainly violent and sometimes tough to watch. The reason that we recommend the movie is because of the important themes of inequality, self-image, environmentalism and human suffering. That being said, the books and movies show those overlying themes in gruesome ways, so we only recommend the books and movies for ages 12 and above.

    • The reason that the kids kill each other is because their government forces them to. Read the book and you will understand.

    • Good question, Davey. There are two answers that I can think of: 1. The Capitol, and all of its people, are so consumed by appearances that they constantly change and/or alter things like the peacekeepers uniforms. 2. More realistically, the filmmakers made a few cosmetic changes in the sequel in an attempt to improve certain details. For example, the peacekeepers, the sets, the overall vibe of the various districts … etc.
