Rowling writes ‘Harry Potter’ spinoff

J.K. Rowling has written a new book, but it doesn’t feature Harry Potter and you probably won’t be able to buy it.

“The Tales of Beedle the Bard” is an illustrated collection of magical fairy tales based on the fictional book given to Hermione by Dumbledore in “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.” It contains five stories that were illustrated and handwritten by Rowling.

Don’t look for the book in your neighborhood bookstore, however. Only seven copies were printed. Six copies were given away as gifts and the seventh is going to be auctioned off for a children’s charity.

The starting price for the book’s auction will be $62,000.

  1. i think the lady who writes those is only trying to make money. she could have had thousands printed. well, that’s only my opinion.

  2. I don’t think she’s trying to make money from this new book, in fact, she’s not getting paid anything. Remember, Six copies were given as gifts and the last one was auctioned off for charity.

This has nothing to do with what I was just saying, but I heard that she was going to write some kind of encyclopedia on Harry Potter.

  3. i love harry potter i was him for like 5 halloweens i wish i could have one of those books it sounds so cool i dont think that she just wants money but i do think it was a little mean all well 😈

  4. $62,000 for a book?! Now that’s a rip-off!

Extreme Rapper: I’m a Christian too, and I’ve read the Harry Potter books. I know the Bible says that sorcery is a sin, but it’s okay to read about it as long as you realize that it’s fiction. Also, there’s a major difference between sorcery in the Bible and sorcery in Harry Potter. However, if I were to explain that difference accurately, I’m not sure that my comment would be approved.

PS I don’t know of too many rappers who are Christian. Most of them seem immoral and violent, but I guess it’s okay to do as long as you’re not saying a bad message. Good job for trying to change rap into something good!

  5. Drummer, you said that $62,000 was a rip off, but remember the money is going to charity.

By the way, I just wanted to add something. If you look at it the only difference between the witches and wizards in harry potter from normal people is that they have much more power. Having power is not a sin, it’s using power incorrectly that is a sin.

  6. Thank you! It’s a shame though that she’s only made 7, and that we probably won’t be reading them. Or at least anytime soon, maybe sometime in the future she will let them out to the public to read. Drummer I agree with you I am also christian and I have read all of the books. I know what the bible says about Witches and Wizards and I do agree to a certain extent that the books are different from the Dark Evil Magic that is talked about in the Bible, but there are those in the world who will take anything to far. I am sorry to say that there are somepeople who totally belive the whole thing and they go out and by the crystal balls and the wands and It just isn’t good. I guess you just got to know where to cut it off.

  7. Well rapper i’m christian too but i’ve read the whole series and
i’m reading it all over again(i’m on the 4th book).

But my friend is christian and he isn’t alowed to read them(but he really wat’s to).
