Do you know what the nation’s top 10 retailers are?

It may not be a big surprise that Wal-Mart is in the No. 1 position. Walmart sales were more than $348 billion last year — an increase of almost 12 percent over 2006.

In fact, Wal-Mart’s sales last year were greater than those of the next five largest U.S. retailers combined.

Home Depot came in second and Kroger came in third.

  1. Costco is rated the best to their employees; their mantra is employee first, customer second. This is why they have one of the highest retention rates, one of the best benefits package and also provides the best benefits for active military members. The employees bend over backwards for the customers – unfortunately my experience has been that the other companies listed in the top ten could really care less about customer service.

Speaking of customer service . . . go to Philmont – everyone there, ranging from the food service staff to the guides, provide excellent customer service. They are there because they want to be, not because they have to be. They’re all #1 in my book!
