There’s a new superfood in the neighborhood.
The leaves of the moringa trees may be the world’s most nutritious green. According to experts, moringa has 3.5 times the calcium of milk and four times the vitamin C of oranges.
And it’s been around for thousands of years. Ancient warriors fueled for battle with the leaf extract, due to the stamina and strength it gave them. But only recently are Americans getting on board with the superfood.
A recent analysis of the leaves found that moringa also has more vitamin A than carrots, more iron than spinach, and more potassium than bananas.
Moringa is used as soap, lotion, oil and as simple powder for sprinkling on other foods.
