Ever Wondered? Ping Pong Style

Is that what you thought would happen?

Purdue University professor Mark French has developed a cannon that capable of firing balls hundreds of miles per hour. Recently he tested the effects of a ping pong ball, traveling at more than 900 miles per hour. That’s just more than Mach 1.

Even thought the balls weight almost nothing, at that rate of speed, they have the same energy momentum as a bullet leaving a .32 caliber gun.

Anybody out there with they could serve a ping pong ball that fast?

    Now I can see why just a piece of wood in a tornado can do so much damage. Speeds up to 300 MPH and wood is way heavier than a ping pong ball.
