I don’t know about you guys, but I’m getting excited for Ender’s Game. When the movie was first announced a couple of years ago, I wasn’t sure that it would love up to the expectations that surround the classic novel that it’s based on.
But after seeing this trailer, maybe I was wrong.
If you’re unfamiliar with the story, it was originally a book of the same name written by Orson Scott Card in 1985. In the book, the world’s most talented children, including main character Ender Wiggin, are taken at a very young age to a training center called the Battle School. Teachers train them in the arts of war through increasingly difficult games including ones undertaken in zero gravity in the Battle Room. It’s in that room where Ender’s genius is revealed.
The movie has an impressive cast and seems to have spared no expense on the special effects and general production. Take a look at the trailer, and be sure to let me know what you think.
By the way, if you haven’t thought of a book to read for the Boys’ Life Reading Contest, Ender’s Game would be a great choice. For more on the reading contest, click here.
