Your Superhero Dream Team!

Our newest column, “Dream Team,” was a big hit last month, when we asked for your baseball dream team. Now we’re ready for the next installment:

Here’s how it works: If you could assemble a Superhero Dream Team of the very best superheroes, who would be on your team?

You can choose five superheroes from any comic books, universes, TV shows or movies. Be sure to tell us which version of the superhero you are choosing. For example, if you choose Batman, tell us which version you are choosing: The Dark Knight, Original 60′s TV Batman, a particular comic book Batman?

Congratulations to Jakob. Here’s his team:

Superman, Batman, Silver Surfer, Dr.Strange and Phantom Stranger.

While there were so many outstanding teams submitted, Jakob’s team stood out for a few reasons.

1. Batman.  Batman is mankind’s greatest detective, and a master of human deception. He would be an invaluable resource to his other teammates.

2. Superman. Superman is considered one of the top three most powerful characters in any universe. He’s almost unbeatable against any foe. He also works fantastically well with Batman, as dual members of the Justice League.

3. Phantom Stranger. This choice blew me away. He’s a lesser-known character that’s is among the most mysterious characters of all-time. The Phantom Stranger’s greatest power is his mysterious omniscience. He’s able to know nearly everything about any character and any situation he encounters in both the DC and Marvel Universes.

4. Silver Surfer. For these facts alone: He has to absorb and manipulate the universe’s ambient energy, can navigate through interstellar space and is capable of time travel.

5. Dr. Strange. He has been described as “the mightiest magician in the cosmos,” and can use magic to achieve any effect he desires.

    • Sure, I think. Do you mean choosing members of a team like the X-Men, and placing them on a team with members from a team like the Justice League?

    • I guess it could, but you may be limiting yourself. If you use a video game character, he should have very provable skills and abilities. Also, I would make sure that he is technically classified as a “superhero.”

  1. I have a question for boyslife can you include a guy that’s not really a hero but not really a bad guy sort of like deadpool

    • Sure. You can include a hero that has origins as a villain if you would like. Hulk would be an example of that.

    • I think you can use certain villains, but make sure they have a history of winning. If they are always being beaten by good guys, they’re probably a bad choice.

  2. I WIIL BEAT YOU ALL MY TEAM IS AWSOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  6. Does any one know what show these are from : Dark Paladin, Blue Eyes White Dragon, Winged Dragon of Ra,Obelisk the Tormentor, and Slifer the Sky Dragon

  7. hey ”Army Of Whovians”! the Avengers originally consisted of Iron Man, Ant-Man, the Wasp, Thor, and the Hulk. The original Captain America was discovered, trapped in ice (issue #4), and joined the group after they revived him.The first adventure featured the Asgardian god Loki seeking revenge against his brother Thor. Using an illusion, Loki tricked the Hulk into destroying a railroad track. He then diverted a radio call by Rick Jones for help to Thor, whom Loki hoped would battle the Hulk. Unknown to Loki, Ant-Man, the Wasp, and Iron Man also answered the radio call. After an initial misunderstanding, the heroes united and defeated Loki after Thor was lured away by an illusion of the Hulk and suspected Loki when he realized it was an illusion. Ant-Man stated that the five worked well together and suggested they form a combined team; the Wasp named the group Avengers. The roster changed almost immediately; at the beginning of the second issue, Ant-Man became Giant-Man and at the end of the issue, the Hulk left once he realized how much the others feared his unstable personality. Feeling responsible, the Avengers attempted to locate and contain the Hulk, which subsequently led them into combat with Namor the Sub-Mariner. This resulted in the first major milestone in the Avengers’ history: the revival and return of Captain America. Captain America joined the team, and he was given “founding member” status in the Hulk’s place. Then for a while, characters would go on and off. Then Spidey and Wolverine were on the team, replaced by the falcon. Then Hawkeye and Black Widow joined in the movie.
