Climbing for Charity

Ryan Christensen’s passion is mountain climbing. Recently, when he was looking for a new climbing adventure, he came across the Climb to Fight Breast Cancer, an effort by a group of outdoors enthusiasts who climb some of the world’s most exciting peaks in honor or memory of loved ones who have battled breast cancer.

It was a perfect fit. One of Ryan’s close family friends is a breast cancer survivor.

Ryan, 21, a former member of Venturing Crew 525 in Inglewood, Wash., is set to climb Russia’s Mt. Elbrus in July, then, just days later, he’ll tackle Africa’s Mt. Kilimanjaro. His goal is to raise $30,000 for the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center.
