Anthem for Sale

An original copy of “The Star-Spangled Banner” sheet music will be sold Friday at Christie’s auction house in New York City, N.Y. The seller expects the item to fetch between $200,000 and $300,000.

This two-page manuscript includes engraved “notes and all four stanzas of the song by Francis Scott Key.” Dating to 1814, this is the last of 11 known copies to be privately owned.
